The South West Observatory

Welcome to the homepage for the South West Observatory - the regional information gateway. Here you can access a network of analysts and information across a broad range of demographic, environmental and economic services.

Comprising six Thematic Modules, nine sub-regional Local Intelligence Networks and a co-ordinating Core Unit, the Observatory works to a vision that policy making in, and about, the region should be based on sound evidence. 

It is the Observatory's aim to be the automatic first port of call for intelligence about the South West region and its parts, with any of our constituent bodies acting as a portal to the entire network of experts and resources.The Observatory also works closely with a wider network of partners, including the national Association of Regional Observatories.

In the What's New section you will find links to the latest outputs from network and in the News section you will find highlighted various reports and announcements, which we hope are useful. We also list events taking place across the network and across the region and we provide links to employment opportunities in the region from within the network and wider network.
